Dorothy Marie Adams, age 86, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 4:17 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Dorothy was born February 7, 1931, in Powhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Edna (Haug) Congdon,
As a small child her family moved to Brighton, Colorado where she graduated from Brighton High School in 1949. She attended Stenographer School in Denver, Colorado and worked for Montgomery Ward for many years.
She married Billy Dean Adams on December 27, 1953, in Aurora, Colorado. In 1966 Dorothy moved to Miller, with her husband. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with his many businesses. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother Chester Congdon and one granddaughter Lori Bradley.
Survivors include one son, Barry Stephen Adams, of Miller; two daughters, Brenda Gail Bradley and her husband, Tom, of Everton, Missouri and Dawna LaVerne Budd and her husband, Ron, of Jasper, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Theresa Hargis, Meranda Villars, Colleen Guetzkow, Orrin Bradley, Veronica Hayward, Vanessa Case and Wesley Budd; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller. Visitation will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2108, at the Olinger Highland Cemetery in Thornton, Colorado.
