Betty Lou Shields, 85 years, of Anderson, Missouri was called to heaven on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the McDonald County Living Center.
Betty Lou Shields was born on October 9, 1932 in Ada, Oklahoma to the late Joseph Edmond and Elsie Mae (Golden) Sharp. She married Sam "Sammie" Shields on September 13, 1947 at Pumpkin Center, California and to this union four children were born. Betty enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and writing recipes down she would see on television. She loved the lord and attended the Trinity Worship Center in Goodman, Missouri. Betty just stop working in March of this year and you could see her everyday walking the grandchildren to and from school.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Sam "Sammie" Shields; her son, Kenneth Rex Shields; grandchild, Gina Ann Shields brothers, Bob Sharp and Don Sharp; a sister, Wanda Davis.
Betty is survived by her three children, Jimmy Eugene Shields and wife, Helen, Janine Brown and husband, Gary and Gwendolyn Bennett and husband, Ray all of Anderson, Missouri; a brother, Jackie Sharp of Seattle, Washington; six sisters, Loretta Meneley of Jay, Oklahoma, Sally Shorter of Gravette, Arkansas, Linda Pettipiece of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Joyce Waltz of Bakersfield, California, Jeannie Burns of Morro Bay, California and Mary Belle Ouart of Shawnee, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; along with a host of other family members and friends who will dearly miss Betty.
Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Granddaughter Angela Reece and Pastor Gary Murphy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at this time.
