Florene Gideon, 90 years, of Goodman, Missouri was called to heaven on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the McDonald County Nursing Center in Anderson, Missouri.
Florene was born on August 30, 1927 in Stella, Missouri to the late Delmer and Mary Florene (Carter) Miller. She married Clyde Gideon on August 8, 1947 in Pineville, Missouri. She taught school in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Bakersfield, California and Neosho, Missouri as well as various other schools. Florene enjoyed quilting at the American Legion in Pineville, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Gideon; grandson, Colt Gideon and sister, Maxine Stephens.
Florene is survived by her son, Jamie Gideon and wife, Sheri of Anderson, Missouri; sisters, Erlene Gideon and husband, Oddie of Anderson, Missouri, Pauline Brown and husband, Don of Chicago, Illinois; two grandchildren, Cody "Carriger" Gideon and fiancé, Anja, Sarah Graham and husband, Cliff all of Goodman, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Austin Pippin, Walker Carriger, Wyatt Carriger and Roper Graham; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss Florene.
Funeral services for Florene will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral. Brother Brian Millard will officiate. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Stella, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home, the family will receive friends at this time.
