Chanler Brendon Wood, age 19, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday December 27, 2017, at Freeman Hospital, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Chanler was born on April 8, 1998 in Joplin the son of Brent and Tabitha (Campbell) Wood. He has been a lifetime area resident. In 2016 Chanler graduated from Neosho High School. He had worked multiple traveling jobs. He enjoyed BMX biking, dirt bikes, hiking, camping, and anything that was outdoors. He was a very proud owner of his Subaru. He is a beloved son, brother, and friend. Chanler will be forever missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Brent and Tabitha Wood, Joplin; five brothers, Cameron Cote, Hartford, CT, Austin Cote, Torrington, CT, Lane Wood, Omaha NE, Hayden Wood and Kyle Wood, both of the home; his paternal grandmother, Betty Capp, Joplin, MO; two nephews, Bret and Wyat Cote, both of Fairland, OK.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Larry Griffin will officiate. The visitation will immediately follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary.
