Michial Eugene "Mike" Qualls, age 74 of Joplin, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his home, surrounded by family.
Mike was born March 19, 1943 in Joplin to the late Robert Qualls and Helen Case Qualls. He left school to join the Air Force during the Vietnam era. Prior to retirement, Mike worked for Smith Floor Store, but for many years, he upholstered pool and billiard tables. Mike loved the outdoors, including spending a lot of time fishing. He thoroughly enjoyed building things for his family.
On August 9, 1961, Mike married Francella Herron in Wichita Falls, Texas. Fran survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Michele Jones and husband, Silver, Stacey Woolever and husband, Jack, all of Joplin; grandchildren, Brandon Jones, John Zippro, Jackie Woolever, Chandler Hance and husband, Eric, Whitney Jones; great grandchildren, Payton, Avery, Riley, Aiden, Brooklyn and Mason; brother in-law, Everett Herron and wife, Teresa; sister, Raydean; plus numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Other than his parents, Mike is preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, December 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Family request that instead of sending flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society, in care of the mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
