Logan Howard

(From Parker Mortuary)

Logan Lee Howard, age 11, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Logan was born on July 11, 2008, in Joplin, Missouri. He was faced with many challenges in his life that set him apart from his peers, but he overcame so much and never let any of it hold him back.

To his family and friends, Logan was known for his larger than life personality. He was a sweet, caring and energetic boy with a huge sense of humor.

Logan was always making someone laugh. He loved spending time with Mom (Misty), cooking and shopping, and he loved chores and thrived on routine, but his favorite was making chaffles and stopping to get his favorite drinks at Sonic.

He loved playing outside with his brothers and he was always competitive with them. His brothers were his best friends and he really loved picking on his older sister and would get her going and then run off laughing, knowing he was too fast for her to get him.

Another favorite was getting to watch cartoons with Dad. They both loved cuddling up together on the couch laughing and being silly. Luckily, his dad was a child at heart so they shared many moments together talking about their favorite shows and randomly reciting all of their favorite lines and songs.

Logan spent hours debating dinosaurs with Grandma, who spoiled him rotten, and enjoyed every moment. He loved calling Grandma and Aunt Heather on the phone for very quick conversations throughout the day. Logan learned a lot about fruit trees, gardening and animals while spending time with Grandpa outside and they loved being in the yard together. He was a lover of all things, especially all things animals. Dinosaurs were his favorite and he could tell you all about them.

Logan was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Joe and Leona York; and his paternal great-grandparents, Don and Myrna Howard.

He is survived by his parents, Scott Howard and Misty Harrall; four siblings, Rosalyn, Wyatt, Shane, and Jase; grandparents, Gene and Serena Carrico, Carmie and Karla Howard; aunts and uncles, Heather Brown (Hobert) and Grace Harrall (Brian Pittman); his biological mother, Crystal Staponski; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial services for Logan will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2019, in the chapel of Parker Mortuary with Jeff Freeman officiating.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
