John Linder

John Wayne Linder, age 66, of Long Beach, Mississippi, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at the Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was born February 8, 1953, in Stotts City, Missouri, the son of Charles Wesley and Mary Margaret (Newman) Linder.

John was a 1971 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, Missouri and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was an auto mechanic and of the Baptist faith.

On October 7, 2006, he married Linda Kathleen Brendel, in Kansas City, Missouri.








John is survived by his wife of 13 years, Linda; two daughters, Deborah Borders and her husband, Gary, of Marshall, Missouri and Mary Linder of Kansas City, Missouri; two sons, Steve Linder and Dale Linder, both of Kansas City, Missouri; one step-daughter, Katie Brendel, of Silva, Missouri; one brother, Randy Linder and his wife, Jane, of Stotts City, Missouri; three sisters, Shirley Fleetwood of Joplin, Missouri, Shari Copenhaver of Mt. Vernon, Missouri and Barbara Tharp of Springfield, Missouri; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephew.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary, sister, Linda Lewsader, nephew, Dustin Inman and two brothers-in-law, Cotton Fleetwood and Dan Copenhaver.

A visitation will be held from 12:00–1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Moore Cemetery in Stotts City, Missouri.
