Charles Allen “Charlie” Chapman, age 80, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Wednesday evening, November 13, 2019 at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, Missouri. Charlie was born February 28, 1939 in Carthage, Missouri, to the late Clarence A. Chapman and Georgia A. (Meador) Chapman. He was a 1957 graduate of Carthage High School.
Charlie married Linda Ann Lindsey on November 2, 1962 in Carthage; she preceded him in death on February 2, 2017. He was employed by the Bank of Carthage holding several positions throughout his time there. He was a member of the Center Point Christian Church in Avilla, Missouri. Charlie was also a proud member of the Wrinkled Rooster Coffee Drinking Group.
Survivors include his three sons, Craig Chapman (Lani), Springfield, Missouri, Douglas Chapman (Kathy), Carthage, Missouri, and Dustin Chapman (Stacey), Carthage, Missouri; a sister in-law, Pat Chapman; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his parents; and a brother, George Chapman.
Memorial graveside services will be held 10:00 am Monday, November 25, 2019 at Park Cemetery, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Carthage CAN DO Senior Center in care of the Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed though www.knellmorutary.com.
