Larry Hunt

Larry Ray Hunt, age 72, of Vail, Az., formerly of Mt. Vernon and Miller, Mo., passed away at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at his home. He was born August 29, 1947, in Springfield, Mo., the son of Willard E. and Maxine (Johnson) Hunt.

Larry was a 1965 graduate of Miller High School, and attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo. He was a parts manager for Reliable Chevrolet in Springfield, Mo. for 25 years and an associate of Jim Click Automotive Team in Tucson, Az. for 10 years. He was an avid master gardener, a member of the Halltown Baptist Church in Halltown, Mo. and Sabino Road Baptist Church in Tucson, Az.

On June 17, 1999, he married Sheri Kay New in Estes Park, Co.








Larry is survived by his wife, Sheri; his children, Jedediah Weston Hunt and his wife, Elizabeth, of Miller, Mo., Lindsey Shepard and her husband, Mark, of Mt. Vernon, Mo., Sean Vanslyke and his wife, Debbie, of Dexter, Mo. and stepson, Joseph Mark Ketterer of Vail, Az.

The grandchildren, Zoe McCoy of Joplin, Mo., Amanda (Mandy) Runkle and fiancée, Donnie Dinger, of Mt. Vernon, Mo., Hannah, Abby and Josh Estes, all of Kansas City, Mo., Shaelea Shepard of Mt. Vernon, Mo., Amanda Gamboa and her husband, Jose, of Seattle, Wa., Parker Vanslyke of Dexter, Mo. Jade Ketterer of Vail, Az. and Jessica Webb of Sikeston, Mo.

Three great-grandchildren, Gabriella Runkle, of Mt. Vernon, Mo., Ripley and Otto Gamboa of Seattle, Wa.

He is survived by one brother, Willard (Buddy) Hunt and his wife, Sandy, of Mt. Vernon, Mo.; two sisters, Donna Carl and her husband, Steve, of Mt. Vernon, MO. and Judy Phillips of Springfield, Mo.

Those that have already passed are his sister, Janie Hunt, his stepson, Brian Ketterer and his brother-in-law, Larry Phillips.

A funeral service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt.Vernon will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at the Halltown Baptist Church, in Halltown, Mo.

In lieu, of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Halltown Baptist Mission Team, in care of the Funeral Home, 510 E. Cherry St., Mt. Vernon, Mo. 65712
