Charles Elmer Thomasson, age 64 passed away unexpectantly at 1:06 pm, Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO.
Charlie was born June 19, 1955 in Joplin, MO to James H and Racheal Pearl (Jackson) Thomasson. He was a lifetime resident of Baxter Springs.
Charlie attended Baxter High School and then he started his family, working in multiple areas around Baxter including King Louie and Doanes Products. Charles also worked as the dog catcher in Quapaw, OK for many years before opening up Little Debbie’s Daycare with his wife Debbie Thomasson. After retirement Charlie loved to hunt Spring River for hidden treasures and driving the back roads of Baxter.
Chuck was preceded in death by parents, and several siblings, Fern Andrews, Art VanHoose, Velma Akin, Ester P VanHoose, Lynn Van Hoose, Geneva Crabtree, Lonnie VanHoose, and Merion VanHoose.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Thomasson , Baxter Springs; two sons, Bruce Thomasson (wife, Angie), Baxter Springs, and Chad Thomasson (wife Tina), Wyandotte, OK. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Correy Thomasson, Carrie Thomasson, Hunter Thomasson, and Riley Thomasson Bailey, two great-grandchildren, Addison Thomasson, and Aspen Thomasson all of Baxter Springs; two sisters, Judy Wade (husband, Don), Baxter Springs, Patty McAfee (husband, Eddie) Cotopaxi, CO, and one brother, Scott VanHoose (wife, Joyce), Carthage, MO.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 -6:00 pm, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, KS.
Funeral services will be at 6:00 pm, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs. Eddie McAfee and Bib Winnett will officiate.
