Bruce Marshall Baugh, age 65, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at his home after a sudden illness.
Bruce was born June 11, 1954 in Annapolis, Maryland, son of the late Herbert Hill Baugh and Marjorie Lee Sexton Baugh. He grew up in California, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, California. He moved to the Joplin area in 1976, and worked for years with Crowder Pest Control. He also ran a Bait Shop located on Iowa Ave. for several years. He was a proud member of the Joplin Fraternal Order of the Eagle's Lodge #2410. He served as a past President, and was a member for over 20 years.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Susan Wermter Rich, who passed away on December 26, 2004.
Survivors include his sisters, Janet Hunter of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Susan Baugh of Salt Lake City, Utah; nieces, Megan Sexton Hunter Crozet, West Virginia, and Margaret Wagner Hunter of Richmond, West Virginia; nephew, William Ian Hunter of Santa Barbara, California.
Funeral service will be Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Alan McCamey officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in Shiloh Cemetery, Miller, Missouri. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary following the service at the funeral home.
A celebration of life for Bruce will be held at the Joplin Eagle's Lodge later that day.
