Lois Mooney, age 99, of Liberal, MO passed away November 27, 2019, at Truman Healthcare Center, Lamar, MO.
Lois was born March 10, 1920 in Verdella, MO to Rolla B. Fast and Katie (Pomatto) Fast. She graduated from Liberal High School. On May 11, 1941, Lois married Neil Mayer Mooney in Liberal, MO.
Lois worked as a Secretary for the Liberal School System as well as Liberal City Utilities. She also was an AVON Representative and had worked at Hedge's Grocery Store. She was a member of Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, and Christian Woman's Fellowship, and enjoyed needle work, crochet, and was a seamstress, but her family was her greatest treasure, especially being call "Nanny" by her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Robert Neil Mooney, Pittsburg, KS; a daughter, Marianne Lois (Kyle) Page, Liberal, MO; five grandchildren, Katie Page, Abbey Collier, Haley Page, David Mooney and Jason Mooney; as well as eight great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband Neil Mooney; four brothers, Dale Fast, Gerald, Fast Glenn Fast and Karl Fast; a sister Erma Fast; and a daughter-in-law Deidre Mooney.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Liberal City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday at the funeral home.
