Tom Green

Thomas Franklin 'Tom' Green, age 79, Joplin, passed away at University Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah, Thursday, November 21, 2019 after a sudden illness.

Tom was born January 27, 1940 in Asbury, Missouri to the late Henry Dewey Green and Alice Marie Stout Green and had lived in Joplin most of his life.

A 1957 graduate of Granby High School, Tom worked as a barber for over forty five years. Following retirement, he drove the employee bus at Freeman Health System for several years. He was a former member of the Joplin Elk's Lodge #501. A music enthusiast, Tom played harmonica and accordion and enjoyed playing bluegrass music. He was a car enthusiast and traveled any chance he could. Tom will be missed by all who knew him.

Tom married Linda Houston on March 24, 1989 in Joplin. She survives.








Additional survivors include two sons, Anthony Green, Joplin, Paul Green, Las Vegas, Nevada; three step children, Rhonda Houston, Dan Houston, Jr. and Dawn DeMalleo, all of Joplin; eight step grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Green and Linda Gail Wilson.

Memorial services are planned for Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service.
