James D. Johnson age 71 of Webb City, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Freeman West Hospital. He was born on August 28, 1948 in Webb City, Missouri to James Johnson and Beatrice Everett Johnson.
James worked for Tri State Trucking for over 46 years in the maintenance/dispatch department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Webb City. James served his country in the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War.
He married Betty (Peterson) Johnson on February 2, 1991 in Webb City and she survives him at home.
James is also survived by his children, Wes Johnson and wife Ashley of Joplin, Angel Johnson of Webb City, Pamela Maxwell of Howell, Michigan, Michael Siegel and wife DeLynna of Smithville, Missouri, Stephen Siegel and wife Erin of Republic, Missouri, Brook Leece and husband Malachi of Lawton, Oklahoma, Bree Johnson of Webb City, Brittany Johnson of Joplin; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sisters, Janet Black of Webb City, and Patty Merry and husband Butch of Noel, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Johnson and his parents.
The family will have a memorial service on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Webb City with Dr. Shaun Watson officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to VFW Post 534 in Joplin in his memory.
