Vernon Dale Jones has left us on November 23, 2019. He was 74 years old.
Vernon was born November 15, 1944 in Moore, Oklahoma. He enlisted his senior year of high school and served in the US Army, serving in Vietnam and overseas for 13 of his 22 year career where he retired with honors.
During his retirement years from the Army he traveled, backpacked and bicycled extensively across the United States, including riding from Missouri to Colorado multiple times. He also spent many trips visiting family in Colorado, Washington, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Vernie Jones, his brothers, Jimmy and Keith, and his sister, Charlotte.
He is survived by his sisters Kathy and Dody, wife Mary Jane, their children Robin, James, Greg, Sam, and Steve and six grandchildren.
The family invites you to a celebration of life at College Heights Christian Church at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 26, 2019.
Memorial contributions will be made to a PTSD treatment organization to be determined. Checks may be made to College Heights Christian Church ("Jones Funeral" in the memo field) to be forwarded to the selected organization.
