Larry Franklen “Frank” Cochrane, Sr., 80, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday morning, November 10, 2019, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home after months of declining health.
Frank entered this life on August 13, 1939, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, son of the late Lewis F. and Velma M. (Merrick) Cochrane.
On July 13, 1963, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Mary Jones and together they have shared the last fifty-six wonderful years. Frank served as a machinist mate in the United States Navy from July 1, 1957 until his honorable discharge on January 24, 1966. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his four children, whom he dearly loved. He was also an animal lover, caring for many during his lifetime, both pets and wildlife. Frank was a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Allgood and Linda Hudson; and a grandson, Andrew.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary Cochrane of the home; his four children, John Cochrane and wife, Liz, Larry Cochrane, Lisa Gailey and husband, Jeff and Mandy McCombs and husband, Todd; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Clara West and Margaret Gregory; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Cochrane will be held graveside with full military honors on Wednesday morning, November 13, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Saratoga Springs Cemetery near Southwest City, Missouri, with Pastor Marilyn O’Brien officiating.
Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Paul Schultz, Michael Yost, Jeremy Cochrane, Zachary McCombs, Emery Phillips and Gordon Hudson with Ivan Jones serving as honorary. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
