Darrel D. Hoerle, 87, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Darrel was born March 27, 1932 in Chambers, Nebraska to Earl H. and Helen A. “Russell” Hoerle. He was a longtime resident of Southwest Missouri and a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Carthage.
Darrel pastored several Lutheran churches in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri. In 1958, he graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, fishing and photography.
Darrel was united in marriage to Clara “Twiss” on April 12, 1952 in Clearwater, Nebraska; she survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Darrel Hoerle, Jr. of Lamar and Dale Hoerle (Wei) of Gilbert, Arizona; one sister, Bonnie Ficklen (Tom); four grandchildren, Mitchell Hoerle, Paige Hoerle, Jeffrey Qian and Samantha Qian.
Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
