Michael Wheeler

Michael Wayne Wheeler, 64, of Joplin, Missouri, departed from this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Michael entered this life on January 23, 1959, in Pierce City, Missouri, son of William “Bill” and Georgeann Wheeler. 

Michael married wife, Lisa Wheeler, on June 1, 2001 in Joplin, Missouri. 








Michael took pride in his roofing and construction business, Wheeler Roofing and Remodeling, for many years and after retiring, he continued to take on many projects until his passing that he often worked closely with his son completing. Michael had a love for fishing and enjoyed doing so with his wife Lisa , walking beaches searching for sharks teeth, riding motorcycles, spending time with his kids and grandkids and making crazy construction/project ideas come to life. Michael set out to pass along his vast knowledge and skill set to his children, and he absolutely did that in many ways over the years. Michael had two mini best friends, his chihuahua’s Nala and Scrappy who were by his side often. Michael loved his family and spent most of his time taking care of them in one way or the other.

He was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Wheeler; his mother, Georgeann Wheeler; and two brothers, Gary and David Wheeler.








Michael is survived by his wife Lisa Wheeler of the home; children, Anthony “Tony” Wheeler and wife Lallania of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Daniel Wheeler and wife Ashlee of Seneca, Misty Kelso of Joplin, Charlie Warren and wife Nathaly of Converse, Texas, and Ashley Moore and husband Josh of Quapaw, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Diana Lafferty of Joplin, Billie Ferhenbach and husband Conrad of Diamond, and Charlene Reed and husband Josh of Joplin; several cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will held at McClelland Park, Shelter #2, on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00pm. Flowers/plants may be sent to 205 Oak Ridge Dr, Seneca MO on Friday October 20th to be available for the Celebration of Life.
