(From Ozark Funeral Home)Harold Horrace “Bud” Cook, Jr, 79, departed this life in June 2024.
Bud was born January 20, 1945 in Orange County, California to the late Harold Sr. and Carmella Cook. Bud was united in marriage to his best friend and love of his life Rolita Burr on December 23, 1993 and adopted her son Paul not long after.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rolita, and his daughter Carlin.
Bud attended Fullerton College and Chapman University where he majored in performing arts.
He continued his love of acting with an animated personality that came alive in his storytelling.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, rode with the Patriot Guard Motorcycle Club, and had a heart for all who served in our country’s armed forces. In his later years he enjoyed visiting people he knew throughout his community and made frequent visits to Cafe 76.
Bud is survived by his sons: Paul Cook and his wife Caitlyn of Anderson, MO; David Cummings and his wife Jean of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his three grandchildren: Tyler Paul, Scott Michael, & Kaius David; his brother Bruce Cook and his wife Toni and niece Hannah; His beloved wife’s family including her sister and brother in laws, Therea (Hillary) Booth, Tammy (Conrad), McKenna, Rebecca (Tom) Sainsbury, and Delana Halstead and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud did not like to say goodbye but often left his family and friends by saying, “if I don’t see you later, I’ll see you on the other side!” Rest easy Bud, ‘till we all meet again.
Graveside funeral services for Bud will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Union Cemetery in Stella, Missouri. Reverend Cecil Hall will officiate. Those honoring Bud's life by serving as pallbearers are David Cummings, Paul Cook, Jedidiah Hall, Scott Cummings, Tyler Hasty-Cummings and Brandon Sainsbury. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at this time.
