(From Carson-Wall Funeral Home)Lavera (Seibert) De Sousa, 76, of Parsons, died at 6:09 A.M., Sunday, June 30, 2024 at her home.
She was born September 18, 1947 at McCune, a daughter of William H. and Ida Katherine (Harris) Seibert. She grew up and attended school at McCune, graduating from the McCune High School with the Class of 1966. She then moved to Parsons.
In October of that year she began working at Swift and Company and worked there until its closing in December 1973. She was later employed at the Broderick’s Manufacturing Company from January 1978 until August 1985.
On March 1, 1967 she was united in marriage to Joseph Sousa at Parsons. They divorced on February 26, 1969. She married Frederick R. Cook on April 16, 1971 in the Parsons area. They later divorced in November 1985. She was later united in marriage to Armando N. De Sousa on March 8, 1996 in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2017.
In previous years she was Jehovah’s Witness. She enjoyed raising birds and gardening.
Survivors include: one son – and daughter in-law – Jammie and Lisa Sousa, Lamar, MO; one daughter – Ruth Brinson, and her companion, Mike Flores, Parsons, KS; three step-sons – Anthony Sousa, Eldorado Springs, MO, Frank Sousa, and his wife, Candance, Camdenton, MO, Moses Sousa, Camdenton, MO; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Reverend Rodney Howell officiating.
