Bob Schleisman

Robert "Bob" Schleisman, age 87, of Joplin, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Freeman West.

Bob was born May 19, 1932 in Carroll County, Iowa, son of the late Phillip Schleisman and Mary Johnson Schleisman. He grew up in Iowa, and graduated from Pomeroy High School before attending the University of Iowa where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, and later earned his CPA. Bob served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a certified public accountant taking care of many clients over the years.

Bob was a member of First Community Church of Joplin, and the Joplin Lion's Club where he was a lifetime member. He also loved being outdoors enjoying nature. He was a coin collector, he enjoyed being a pilot, played the trombone, and singing in a Barber Shop Quartet.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Wright.








Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Johann McCann Schleisman; son, Randy Schleisman and wife Ann of Nixa, Missouri; daughter, Joyce Schleisman of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Ivey Zoeller and husband Ian of Greenwood, Missouri, Allison Schleisman, Los Angeles, California, Matthew Schleisman and Katie Parker of Portland, Oregon; brother, Paul Schleisman and wife Verlene; sisters, Marian Schachtner, Donna Schreirer, Dorothy Hall; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bob Simon officiating.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until service time.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joplin Lion's Club.
