Betty Jean Ramsey, age 88, of Joplin, Mo passed away Sunday February 7, 2016 at the Communities of Wildwood Ranch.
She was born on March 12, 1927 in Joplin, Mo the daughter of Charles and Ethel “White” Daniels.
She married Elbert Ramsey on August 19, 1944 in Joplin, Mo, he preceded her in death on February 21, 1999. Betty was a homemaker raising four daughters. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, an extraordinary seamstress, loved arts and crafts, quilting and painting.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and four sisters. Survivors include four daughters: Sharon Long of Seneca, Mo, Connie Bell and husband Mike of Joplin, Mo, Kim Smith and husband Alan of Joplin, Mo, and Debbie Long and husband Tom of Joplin, Mo; 15 grandchildren: Kerri Brown, Stephanie Leo, Mindy Smithwick, Megan Burton, Laura Baksa, Macy Smith, Matt Short, Seth Short, Spencer Long, Ryan Long, Chase Long, Dokatah Smith, Dallas Smith, Matt Bell, and Katie Ruffner; 39 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and four sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday February 11, 2016 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory. Burial will follow in the Saginaw Cemetery Joplin, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday at the Mortuary. The family suggest contributions to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Associating in care of the Mortuary.
