Margaret Henrietta Bowlby, age 70 of Tulsa, Ok. formerly of Webb City, Mo., passed away early Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at her home following a long battle with cancer.
Margaret was born on January 9, 1946 in Joplin, Mo. the daughter of Curtis and Francis (Newberry) Ledford. She was a longtime area resident. Margaret worked for many years as a department manager for Wal-Mart in Searcy, Ar.
She married Paul Bowlby on March 21, 1975. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2006. Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leroy Pearson and Virgil Ledford, and one sister, JoAnn Kendall. Survivors include three daughters; Crystal Simmons and husband Karl of Tulsa, Misty Isbell of Searcy, Ar., Stephanie Gregg and husband Rick of Nixa, Mo., one son; Chip Bowlby and wife Christina of Reno, Nv., two brothers; Chuck Pearson of Tulsa, Kenny Ledford of Ft. Worth, Tx., one sister; Shirley Woolsey of Oronogo, Mo., and 9 grandchildren; Kenton Bowlby, Tara Bowlby, Michael Isbell, Sara Gregg, Paul Isbell, Katie Gregg, David Isbell, Maya Simmons and Myles Simmons.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Reverend John Newberry, will officiate. Burial will follow at Burkhart Cemetery in Racine, Mo. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home starting at 9:00 a.m.
