Shiloh K. Sonis, 26, Neosho, died Feb. 4, 2016 at his home in Neosho, surrounded by his family at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Shiloh was born Feb. 27, 1989 in Joplin and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Neosho High School where he was a standout football player and wrestler. He continued his football career at Graceland University in Iowa and transferred to MSSU where he enjoyed working with the cheer squad as a stuntman. He loved the outdoors, especially water sports and enjoyed playing poker and was proud of his heritage. He was a talented musician and played the drums for Brother Bear and most recently, Veer Option.
He is survived by his mother, Kathy Sonis of Neosho; his father, Mesewin Sonis of Micronesia; two brothers, Joshua Manel Sonis and Christian Manuel Lopez-Sonis, both of Neosho; one uncle Pete Sanders (Luetta); two aunts, Sally Tidwell and Ellen Curry. One niece, Gracin Reign Sonis; one nephew, Titus Koe n Sonis; cousins, Maverick Sonis, James Dowell, Sandy Dowell, James Allen Curry, Ty Curry, Aaron Curry, Lori Curry and several extended family members in Micronesia, Guam and Hawaii and too many close friends to count including, Fernando Venegas.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Feburary 11, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Hornet Cemetery, north of Seneca, Missouri, with Pastor Ty Curry officiating. A celebration of Shiloh’s life will be held following the service at the Lampo Bulding on East Spring Street in Neosho, MO.
