Leroy David Potter, age 88 of Joplin, passed away February 23, 2016.
He was born July 13, 1927 in Warwick, OK. He was a retired Joplin school teacher and longtime former employee of International Paper Co. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and a long-standing member of Joplin Host Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Opal; a wife, Georgia; and a close companion, Helen Highley.
Survivors include sons, Gary F. Potter and wife Jean Marie, Dale W. Potter; daughters, Karen L. Brown and husband Thomas, Nancy R. Potter and husband Randy; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Briskey and her family.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at Parker Mortuary with visitation following.
