William Andrew Phipps, 80, passed away, Saturday, February 6, 2016.
Beloved husband of Patricia Louella (Tillock) Phipps; dear father of William David (Wendy)Phipps, Elizabeth (Jeff) Walters, Angela (Anthony) Danna, and Marsha (David) Connor; loving granddad of Whitney (Evan Schnidman) Phipps, DVM, Lauren (Marcos) Redondo, Weston Phipps, Alyssa Walters, Erin Walters, Zephan Walters, Nicholas Winfrey, Tony Danna, Megan Connor, Katie Connor, and Matthew Connor; great-granddad of Aubrey Walters; brother-in-law of Pat Mosley and Billy Speer. Beloved uncle, great-uncle, cousin, friend and mentor too many.
Son of the late Lemuel "Lum" and Anna (Kisling) Phipps. Brother of the late Wilma Randolph, Verna Drake, Jewene Dodson, Doris Speer, Mildred Ott and Bill Stroup.
Bill was born and raised in Reeds, MO. He graduated from Sarcoxie High School and earned a degree in business from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. He was formerly employed at Frisco Transportation Company and retired after thirty two years with Dairy Farmers of America where he was Chief Operating Officer of Central Area Council. Bill was a dedicated advocate of the providers and consumers of milk and dairy products.
Funeral service for Mr. Phipps are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 in the chapel of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, MO with Pastor James Yost officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Private interment to follow in Sarcoxie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Lupus Foundation of America or Sarcoxie Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
