Shirley Ann Monroe, age 80, Joplin, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Freeman Health Systems after an illness.
Shirley was born June 8, 1935 in Amber, Oklahoma to the late Arthur Lee Mann and Allie Mae Hurst Mann and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.
A homemaker, she attended Fairview Baptist Church. Shirley loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Monroe on June 10, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Robert 'Bob' Bradford and his wife, Janet, Joplin, Douglas 'Doug' Bradford, Joplin; two sisters, Wanda Caffey, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Betty Alexander, Chanute, Kansas; grandchildren, Peggy Self and husband, Bill, Sean Bradford, Misty Patterson, Barbara Smith; and six great grandchildren.
Services are planned for Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Fairview Baptist Church. Josh Branham and Robert Bradford will officiate. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Payton Self, Bill Self, Tony Hazelwood, Ray Howard, Jacob Wilson and Billy Glander.
