Karen Louise Miller, 74 years, of Jane, Missouri passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at her daughter's home in Kansas City, Kansas.
She was born on January 1, 1942 in Ames, Iowa to the late Richard Allen and Clara Belle (Oakland) McCabe. She was the first baby born in 1942 in Story County Iowa, during a blizzard. She married Dennis Miller on September 20, 1991 in Des Moines, Iowa. She worked for John Deere for more than 30 years in Ankeny, Iowa. She moved to Jane in 1995 coming from Des Moines, Iowa. In her retirement she and Dennis owned a ranch in Jane and raised mammoth donkeys, jennys and guinea chickens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Miller; her parents and a sister, Nancy McCabe.
Karen is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Cooke and husband Ron of Kyle, Texas, Jody Struthers and husband, Jammy Porter of Kansas City, Kansas; two step-daughters, Buttons Miller of Conroe, Texas, Lesli Holtsclaw and husband, Jim of Danville, Indiana; a sister, Susan DeArmond of Ankeny, Iowa; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss Karen.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Jane Cemetery in Jane, Missouri. Reverend Jamey Cope will officiate.
