Sam Powers

Samuel Eugene Powers, Neosho, died February 23, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital, following a sudden illness at the age of 75. 

Sam was born Oct. 20, 1940 in Goodman, Missouri, the son of James J. and Sara E. (Sharp) Powers. He was a lifelong area resident and worked at Big Smith Manufacturing as a security guard for 15 years. He loved to go to hootenanny dances, mow and weed eat. 

He is survived by one brother, John Powers of Neosho; two sisters, Reatha Dickey of Springfield and Carol Hess of Neosho and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Lora (Jackie) Hammer, Lea Brindle, Floretta Powers and Judy Irish and brothers, Jesse Powers, Ivan Powers and Bill Powers. Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
