(From Clark Funeral Home)Kenneth Kent Kendall, age 87 of Neosho, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 5, 1935, in Lexington, Missouri, to the late George and Susan (Porter) Kendall. Ken was the youngest of eight children and is survived by one sister, Amy Crossley of Independence, Missouri.
He graduated from Lexington High School and attended Maplewood Community College. On November 24, 1957, Ken married his best friend since childhood, Donna (Rockhold) Kendall in Lexington, Missouri. This began their 65 years of marriage.
Ken enlisted in the United States Air Force in April 1956 and served one year in Vietnam. Retiring in 1976 with the rank of T\SGT, he moved his family to Liberty, Missouri to begin an 18-year career at the US Postal Service. After retiring in 1993 from the Postal Service, Ken and Donna moved to Neosho.
Ken was a member of Neosho United Methodist Church, an active member of United Methodist Men, and a member of Disciplers Sunday School class. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Food Basket Brigade.
Ken’s love of travel took him and Donna to 45 states and 16 countries. Woodworking, hunting, fishing, and canoeing with his “boys” were his joy. Being an avid golfer, Ken spent many hours on the course with his “golfing buddies.”
Ken is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; one son, Dr. David (Kathi) Kendall of Neosho; one daughter, Tracy (Tim) Dittmer of Neosho; three grandsons, Jon Dittmer of Neosho, Jason Dittmer of Neosho, and Chad (Kiril) Kendall of New York City; one granddaughter, Hailey (Devin) Mason of Independence, Missouri; great-grandsons, Turner, Skyler, Elijah, Rhyker, Kayden; great-granddaughters, Lilly, Rhaelynn, and Kaya.
