(From Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home)Robert Leon Casteel, age 90 of Cassville, Missouri passed away on June 28, 2024, after a long illness.
Robert, known as Bob, was born to Leon and Barbara Casteel on July 12, 1933, in Colorado. He was a talented athlete who loved sports, especially golf and baseball. He played college baseball and pitched for the University of North Colorado.
After graduating, Bob became a teacher and coach for districts in Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri, retiring from Rocky Comfort School in McDonald County, Missouri. His love of sports inspired many young athletes over his career.
In 1953, Bob married his beloved wife, Katherine (Kathy) Elizabeth Daniels in Sterling, Colorado. Together they had four sons: Robert, Michael, Randy, and Troy. Kathy, Robert and Bob's parents preceded him in death.
Bob is survived by his sons, Michael Casteel: Randy Casteel and wife, Ginger; and Troy Casteel and wife, Angela. Bob was proud Grandpa to granddaughters Loren and Brandi (husband Jaryd Manley), grandsons Nathan (wife Melanie), Brandon, and Dylan, and great grandpa to Rhett, Ryker, Rayleigh, and Remi Manley.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Springfield,
In lieu of flowers contributions in Bob's memory may be made the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
You were such a great influence on my life. You were a great coach and a great teacher and I think of you often. May you rest in peace Coach!
