Joyce Finter

Joyce Ann Finter, age 84, Joplin, Missouri passed away at her home on Saturday June 29, 2024.

She was born on August 30, 1939, in Picher, Oklahoma to Lester Lingo Abernathy Sr. and Verna Flo (Karnes) Abernathy.

Joyce was a registered nurse and continued her education with several different programs. She graduated from Oklahoma State University and took classes at Missouri Southern Junior College. She worked with patients recovering from their addictions and at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Joyce loved to quilt and cross-stich in her free time.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Dwane Sherwood and Charles Finter III, her daughter, Rushel Moser, her son, Brent Sherwood, and six brothers and sisters.

Joyce is survived by three grandchildren, Matthew (Morgan) Moser, Ashlee Crane, and Haley Sherwood: three great grandchildren, Jordan Crane, Jaxson Crane, and Reuben Moser, one brother, Charles “Jack” Abernathy, one son in law, Paul Moser, and several nieces and nephews.
