Paul Casey

From Simpson Funeral Home)

James "Paul" Casey was born on October 29, 1950, in the beautiful mountains of Fallingwater, AR to James and Pauline Casey. Most of his childhood was spent in Goodman, MO with his parents, older sister Janet, younger sister Judy, and younger brother Danny -- all of whom graduated from Neosho High School.

While at Crowder College in 1968, he met Virginia Deffenbaugh of Newtonia, MO. The two were married on October 1, 1971, and had two children, Rebecca and Chris.

The young family eventually made their way to Texas where Rebecca still lives with her husband Ryan and their adult sons Brandon and Jonathan who are both now married. Chris' three adult children Jacob, Jayme, and Jenna and their families also still live in Texas, but Chris and his wife Jennifer have been residing in Neosho providing loving companionship for Paul and Virginia for the past two years.

The whole entire family loves music. In fact, Paul's was the rich bass baritone voice in the locally renowned Casey Quartet. Paul also loved reading, watching Dallas sports and old Westerns, and playing water volleyball in Rebecca's pool. He also always had a love for horses, old cars, and his birthplace in Arkansas. He talked about all of those in his last days.

Paul is survived by his incredibly loyal wife, two children, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren Jaylah and JJ, his sister Janet and brother Danny who both now reside in the Springfield area, and his beloved Beagle Annie.

A Visitation will be held for Paul, Saturday, March 8, 2025, 12:30pm at Hillcrest Church of Christ (1037 W South St), Neosho, MO.

Services are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home of Webb City. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Parkinson's Foundation.
