Everett Vance

Everett Eugene Vance, age 29, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at his home after a sudden illness.

Everett was born December 28, 1989 in Joplin, and attended Joplin Schools. He worked for his father at Gateway Pest Control, and was a member of Calvary Chapel in Joplin. He loved spending time with his family, playing his guitar, and singing. He was known for posts of him playing and singing music on youtube. He was a very gifted musician who taught himself to play the guitar. He spent weekends at the Salvation Army where he enjoyed serving others. He also loved being outdoors, and going on hikes.










Survivors include his mother, Doris Sorenson and husband Charles of Joplin, his father, Lewis Vance of Joplin; sister, Sara Watson and husband Lindsey of Greenfield, Missouri; 1/2 sister, Zoe Vance of Joplin, and a step-sister, Amanda Davison and husband Dusty of Liberal, Missouri; grandparents, Jean Tierney of Joplin, and Charles and Nancy Sorenson of Liberal; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastors Russ Hibbard and David Badley officiating. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary following the service.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army in memory of Everett.

  1. He was a beautiful and sensitive spirit, a brilliant mind, and was quite possibly, the funniest person to have ever lived. A lovely and talented musician as well. He also had one of the best music tastes, and always had his finger on the pulse of new and underground music. I will miss him and regret not talking to him as often in the past 5 years. Again, I will miss him and the world who did not get the opportunity to meet and befriend him, they missed out on something very special in Everett Vance.
