Billy Jenkins, age 63, Joplin, passed away at 10:21 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Mercy Hospital.
Billy was born June 16, 1955 in Marked Tree, Arkansas, son of the late Hyman Jenkins and Avie Moreland Jenkins. He has lived in Joplin most of his life where he worked several different jobs in manufacturing. Billy loved playing bingo, being outdoors, gardening and animals. He enjoyed his daily walks, and would walk his neighbors’ animals when they were unable. He loved to help people, make kids laugh, and enjoyed the time he got to spend with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Billy married Susie Jenkins on August 18, 2000 in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2013.
Survivors include his siblings, David Jenkins, Joplin, Garrey Jenkins and wife Shellee, Joplin, Howard Moreland, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Carolyn Crayton, Joplin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 6th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Wild Rose Cemetery, Webb City, Missouri.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
