Gerald Lee Gober, age 85, Carthage, Missouri passed away Tuesday June 4, 2019. He was born February 12, 1934 in Pritchett, Colorado to Alan Lee and Mary K. (Pebeck) Gober.
Gerald served in the United States Air Force. He was an Industrial Electrician and retired from the former Missouri Steel Castings. Gerald was a Southern Baptist minister and served as a moderator for the Southwest Missouri Region. He was a member of the New Providence Baptist Church.
Gerald enjoyed woodworking, playing dominos and gardening, but his passions were sharing about his Savior and loving on his family. He found true joy in watching his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s events.
He married Verna Spoon on May 26, 1957 in Lamar, Missouri, and she preceded him in death on October 1, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two granddaughters.
Gerald is survived by two sons, Scotty Gober and wife Jana, Erie, Kansas, David Gober and wife Carissa, Carthage, Missouri; one daughter, Dolores Lococo and husband Leonard St Charles, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Those gentlemen honoring his life will be, Gerald “Jerry” Gober, Collin Gober, Andrew Zoll, Jaben Parnell, Kevin Ames, and Raemon Wilson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at the New Providence Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow at the Medoc Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 – 2:00 pm.
Memorial contributions are requested to be made to the New Providence Baptist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home.
