Virgil Usery

Virgil Newton Usery, age 82, Mesa, Arizona, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at his home after an illness.

Virgil was born April 20, 1937 in Lebanon, Missouri to the late Claude Usery and Reba Vickers Usery.

Virgil worked in the automotive industry in sales and management most of his adult working life. He had worked at Frank Scott Motors, R & S Chevrolet and finally moving to Florida, where he owned and operated Pride motors, retiring July 1, 2016.

Virgil was a member of the Moose Lodge; Elks Lodge #501; Joplin Lodge #345, AF & AM; Joplin Shrine Club and the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple in Springfield. Virgil was a kind and gentle man and will be missed by all who knew him.

He married Mary Margaret Powell on November 24, 1979 in Duquesne, Missouri. She preceded him in death on November 23, 2016.








Survivors include a daughter, Debra Hankins, LaQuinta, California; a son, Randall Usery wife Jeana, Gilbert, Arizona a daughter in law Connie Usery Topeka Ks.; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by a son, Steven.

Services are planned for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at White Oak Cemetery, Rogersville, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
