Wayne Ferguson, age 83, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at his home.
He was born July 30, 1935 in Newton County, the son of John Henry and Jessie Eleanor (York) Ferguson.
On June 16, 1962 in Neosho, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Connie Jewell Sharp, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Penny Jeannette Ferguson of the home, Pamela Ferguson Ralls and her husband Daniel of Exeter, and Kevin Ferguson and his wife Carri of Golden City; grandsons, John White, Andy White, Logan White, Tristan White, Landon White, Kyler Ferguson, Ian Ferguson, Thomas Ferguson and Samuel Ferguson; and great grandchildren, Camie White, Mattix White, Johnathan White, William White, Electra White, Nick White, Mark White and David White. As well as four step-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and four siblings; Claude Ferguson, Clyde Ferguson, Clifford Ferguson and Ruby Patton.
Wayne was a Supply Pastor for the Baptist Association while in college and then pastored in the Nazarene Church for thirty-one years. For a few years he taught for public schools in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. He was the State Director of IDR for the State of Missouri for ten years. In 2003 he retired from pastoring in Cassville and made his home in Exeter.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Newtonia I.O.O.F Cemetery under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Daren Bowles will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Contributions may be made to Pea Ridge Church of the Nazarene for Nazarene Missions International in memory of Wayne Ferguson.
