Ron Moorehouse

Ronald Dean Moorehouse, 82, Joplin, MO, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 in Joplin, MO. Ron was born June 30, 1939, to the late Andy Moorehouse and Helene (Horton) Moorehouse. Ronald married Ann Orr on July 23, 1966, in Webb City, MO.

Ron spent his career in education. From 1972 until his retirement in 1999, he served as the principal of Carl Junction Junior High School, where he was a kind mentor to innumerable students and made lifelong friendships with teachers and fellow administrators. He was known to many in the community as a man of faith and good humor, a pillar of guidance and support.








Ron was a family man. Married for 55 years to Ann, Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandparent. No life challenge passed without his calm support, and no family member ever left the house before he had checked the oil in the car and wiped down the windshield.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; daughter Amy Moorehouse of Nashville, TN; daughter Kathy Moorehouse (Jan Franklin) of Charlotte, NC; son Brett Moorehouse (Jennifer) of St. Louis, MO; brothers Larry Moorehouse (Patty) and Ray “Moose” Moorehouse, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Penny Coates, and brother Robert Moorehouse.

A memorial service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Joplin. The family kindly asks anyone attending to bring a face mask.

Amy Schenck

Mrs. Amy Elizabeth Schenck, 39, of Webb City, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, August 27, 2021, at South City Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Amy entered this life on April 20, 1982, in Nevada, Missouri, born to the union of John and Pamela Jean (LaFon) Wingert. She was raised in Golden City, Missouri and was a 2000 graduate of Golden City High School. Amy has resided in Webb City the last twenty years. 

For nearly twenty years, Amy has worked for the US Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier. 








She attended worship services at Bible Believers Baptist Church in Carterville. She enjoyed baking, reading and time spent with her family and friends.

Her mother, Pamela and a brother, Brandon Gilmore, preceded her in death.

On June 14, 2014, she was united in marriage to Steven Schenck and he survives. Additional survivors include her two daughters, Breanna and Cali Butcher; two stepdaughters, Samantha and Jayden Schenck; her father, John Wingert and his wife, Paula; a brother, Bryan Wingert; her maternal grandmother, Clarice Trimble; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021 in the Chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with Gary Vinson officiating. Private burial will follow at Heaven’s Gate Cemetery in Golden City with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Michael McKinney

Mr. Michael David McKinney, 51, of Noel, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Michael entered this life on February 5, 1970, in Kansas City, Missouri, born to the union of Dwight and Linda (Burrous) McKinney. He was raised in Horton, Kansas and was a 1989 graduate of Horton High School. 









 
In 1996, he graduated from Climate Contractors Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a degree in HVAC and was currently employed by Multi-Craft Contractors in Lowell, Arkansas. He resided several years in Northwest Arkansas before moving to Noel, Missouri, in 2017. He enjoyed his Harley, shooting guns and was excited about being a Misho (meaning Grandfather) and was patiently awaiting the arrival of his first granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight; and a daughter, Mykala McKinney.

Michael is survived by his wife, Gina McKinney, whom he married on May 8, 2001; three sons, Dakota Bradford and Heather, of Madison, Florida, William McKinney of San Diego, California and Johnathan McKinney and Marissa, of Noel; his mother, Linda McKinney of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a sister, Teva McKinney also of Colorado Springs; as well as a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday morning, September 4, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Edwin Kraft

Edwin Levi Craft was born August 24, 1948 in Kansas City, Kansas, one of five sons to Herbert and Dorothy M. (Connell) Craft. He entered into rest on August 29, 2021 in Neosho, at the age of 73. 

Edwin served his country in the United States Marine Corp, December 9, 1966 – August 29, 1969, during the Vietnam era. He was a decorated veteran as a Purple Heart recipient among other honors and was a combat wounded veteran. 








He worked as a machinist for the railroad prior to his retirement. He was a talented guitar player, having played as an opening guitarist for Chet Atkins. He enjoyed motorcycles and was a member of the ‘Rolling Thunder’ motorcycle group; he enjoyed fishing and building things. 

Edwin is survived by three daughters, Aimee Moore of Ft. Scott, Kansas, Kim Peters of Peabody, Kansas and Angela Crooks, Louisburg, Kansas; his partner of eleven years, Catherine ‘Cathy’ Sailor of Neosho and eleven grandchildren, Jordan, Sierra, Abigail, Hailey, Riley, Brayden, Bryce, Drake, Kaylee, Ryan and Gunner. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Ray Dean Craft, Roger Allen Craft, Ronald Gene Craft and Roland Keith Craft.

Bradley John Evans, 33, of Pea Ridge died August 30, 2021 at his home.

He was born February 21, 1988 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas to Robert Lee Evans and Kathy Marie Sanders Evans. He graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 2006 and was employed by ENCORE Building Products. 










He enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning, making people laugh, loved music, going to the river and hunting arrowheads. 

He is preceded in death by his step-father Rick Blevins; maternal grandparents Herman and Betty Sanders; his aunt Linda Whitaker; two great-aunts Martha Escue and Billie Escue. He attended Messiah Lutheran Church in Pea Ridge.

Survivors are his mother Kathy Blevins of Pea Ridge; father Robert Evans of Russellville; a sister Amanda Trammell of Pea Ridge; two nephews Seth Trammel of Springdale and Adam Trammell of Joplin, Missouri; and a niece Rebecca Trammell of Joplin, Missouri.

Service is set for 10:00a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Pea Ridge. Visitation is set for 5-7:00p.m. Thursday, September 2, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge

Paul Hughes

Paul Dean Hughes, age 89, of Neosho, Missouri passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 in Neosho, Missouri.

He was born October 23, 1931, in Fairview, Missouri the son of Sherman and Lola (Tichenor) Hughes.

He was a gentle soul and a regular “country boy” at heart. He never met anyone he couldn’t talk to, he enjoyed sitting outside and visiting if the weather permitted, he could do it all day long. He was never in a hurry, always taking his time, walking slow and driving slower. 








He graduated from Wheaton High School where he loved playing basketball. He went on to enlist in the Navy, where he served in the Korean War on the CA124 USS Rochester. 

During his time in the Navy while working as a fireman he broke his leg and was sent to the military hospital in Honolulu. There he met Florence on a blind date and they have been married for 65 years. He was fortunate to live in several states including California where his three children, Richard, Michael and Paula were born. Then moving on to Kansas, Washington and Georgia where he worked in the aircraft industry before returning to his home state of Missouri that he loved. 

In the late 70’s Paul and Florence bought a small farm in Rocky Comfort they called “The Seldom Rest Ranch” where all the kids and grandkids loved to go and enjoy their time with him and Grandma. He loved to give the grandkids rides on the tractor and the donkeys. They lived there for many years before moving to Neosho, Missouri. He loved to watch football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs (not the Denver Broncos) and also enjoyed car racing, old cars and rebuilt a tractor and a couple of old trucks in his younger days. But most of all he loved his family and spending time with them. He’ll be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Hughes. Also surviving are one son, Mike Hughes and his wife Tena Hughes; one daughter, Paula Arguello and her husband Manny Arguello; one brother, Floyd Hughes of Wheaton, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Amanda Gallardo, Kristine Krivinsky, Korie Trask, Brad Lewis, Erin Schott, Stephanie Moen, Chris Arguello, Jennifer Arguello and Kimberly Arguello and twenty great grandchildren, Tyler, Grace, Faith, Caden, Anna, Kensie, Dominic, Connor, Kaleb, Katie, Maddi, Allison, Natalia, Anthony, Jason, Miley, Sydney, Analiz, Cardiel and Marcos.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Richard Hughes and two brothers, Argyl and Manville Hughes.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 4, 2021 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton, Missouri.

Daniel Benningfield

Daniel Carl Benningfield, 66, of Mounds, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Daniel was born on February 11, 1955 in Noel, Missouri to the late James and Marvel Naomi (Thompson) Benningfield. 

He married Roberta Marie Divine on June 14, 1974 in Pineville, Missouri and to this union two children were born. 








Daniel owned and operated PTC Services in Mounds, Oklahoma and was a partner in Diamond Diggz and Stepping Stone of Goodman, Missouri. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Daniel cherished time spent with his family and always had a way of making others feel special.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger L. Benningfield.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 47 years, Roberta Benningfield of the home; two children, Misty Farmer (Jon) of Goodman, Missouri, Timothy Benningfield (Meranda) of Mounds, Oklahoma; five siblings, Doug Benningfield of Lanagan, Missouri, John Benningfield of Anderson, Missouri, Darel Benningfield (Vickie) of Claremore, Oklahoma, Charles Benningfield (Chris) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Cheryl Bateman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Kenzie, Elena and Asher Benningfield, Colter and Landon Vick, Chelsea Cook (Trent), Zandrya Kramer (Kevin), Zachary Farmer (Lacy); great grandchildren, Tyler, Cooper, Adrian, Jayden, Grayson and Ariah; many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Daniel.

Julie Rowan

Julia Ann (Doyle) Rowan, age 61 of Carl Junction, MO, passed away at 12:10 AM on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital following a hard-fought battle with COVID.

Julie was born on September 8, 1959 in Joplin, MO to the union of Robert Doyle and Orissa (Gayler) Doyle. She graduated from Memorial High School with the Class of 1977.

She was united in marriage with Mark Douglas Rowan on April 14, 1978 in Joplin, MO. Together they lived in Joplin and eventually Carl Junction where they raised one son, Kyle, and still resided. 








Julie was a loving and joyful soul who loved her family immensely, her wonderful friends, laughing until she cried, animals and especially her pets, and taking care of an array of flowers and plants at her home.

Her husband Mark passed away several weeks prior, on July 16th. Julie described him as her "angel waiting on the other side." She was also preceded in death by her mother, Orissa Doyle.

Survivors include her son, Kyle Rowan and his wife Kate of Kansas City, MO; her father, Bob Doyle of Joplin; and two sisters, Angie Minshall (husband, Steve), and Cindy Lawson (husband, Doug).

A joint memorial visitation for Julie and Mark will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 PM at the family home at 9025 County Road 300, Carl Junction, MO. Upon the conclusion of the visitation, friends will be invited to follow in procession to Carl Junction City Cemetery where there will be a memorial graveside service beginning at 12:00 PM.

James Miller

James Alton Miller, age 78, of Granby, Missouri, entered into rest at 7:53 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at his home.

He was born April 19, 1943, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, the son of the late Tommie D. and Effie (McGinty) Miller.

James graduated from Yazoo City High School in 1961. He attended Holmes County Community College lettering in tennis and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Delta State University. 








James was a U.S. Army/Air Force Veteran and served during the Vietnam Era. He was an ordained Assembly of God minister and attended Abundant Life Church in Neosho, Missouri. James loved to learn; he was an avid reader and enjoyed reading and writing poetry.

Survivors include one son Warren “D.” Miller of Cocoa Beach, Florida; one daughter, Jena Boyce and her husband, Kevin, of Nixa, Missouri; one sister, Betty Wilson-Bray of Titusville, Florida; two grandchildren, Kullen and Kolton Boyce; one great-grandson, Walker Boyce; and the mother of his children, Emily Marks.

The Clark Funeral Home in Granby has held local arrangements. James will be laid to rest at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City, Mississippi, at a later date.

Mary Kugler

Mary Kugler, 84, lifelong Parsons resident, died at 4:08 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor.

She was born May 1, 1937 to Lurie Garland and Leota (Slane) Bolander. She attended a rural school and graduated from Parsons High School in 1955. She loved to sing and while in high school and junior college was an active member of the Polychromes, her church choir and the Parsons Community Choir. 










In 1957 she graduated from Parsons Junior College. She attended summer sessions at Kansas State College of Pittsburg and taught two years at the Inglish School.

Mary had worked for a short time at the J. J. Newberry Store, at Adventure Line Manufacturing Co. and for seven years at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center. She worked at several nursing homes as a certified nursing assistant and was at the Elmhaven West Nursing Home 15 years.

Mary was a life member and past president of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, was the auxiliary soloist and held various offices until her health declined. She was an avid bingo player. She was a long time member of the Faith United Methodist Church where she was a soloist and choir member. She also belonged to the Eagles Auxiliary and was a Past President of the Parsons Teacher’s Association.

On June 10, 1956 she and Keith Kugler were married at the former Evangelical United Brethren Church. They later divorced.

Survivors are four children, Kent Kugler of Joplin, Missouri, Pat Thompson of Oswego, Kansas, Kathy Duff (Greg) of Thayer, Kansas and Kim Wills (Ryan) of Columbus, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jim Bolander (Ineke) of Belmont, California, Jack Bolander of Fairfield, California, John Bolander (Linda) of Parsons, Kansas and Jerry Bolander (Tandy) of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three sisters, Martha Merrill (John) of Newnan, Georgia, Linda Darkis (Jimmie) of Parsons, Kansas and Carol Moore (Noel) of Coffeyville, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Bolander of Ft. Collins, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joe Bolander and a granddaughter Chenelle Thompson.


Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at the Faith United Methodist Church, with Pat McReynolds officiating. The service will be live-streamed to the Carson-Wall Funeral Homes Face Book page. Burial will be in East Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday. Shannon Pool

Shannon Lee Pool was born December 28, 1978, in Grants, New Mexico, the daughter of Kathryn (Harris) Ping. She entered into rest on August 28, 2021, in Neosho, following a sudden illness at the age of 42. 

She moved to the southwest Missouri area as a young child and attended Granby Elementary School and graduated from East Newton High School in 1997. 








She was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting rocks and four-leaf clovers. 

Shannon is survived by two children, Teanna Brown and Payton Brown; her stepfather, Randolph Ping; three siblings, Randa, Rhiannon and Cody Boman; five nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Ping, and grandparents, Carolyn Kenny and Joe S. Harris. 

The family will be having private services at a later date and will place Shannon with her mother Kathryn at Granby Memorial Cemetery.

Gary Nelson

Gary Lee Nelson, 78, Webb City, Missouri, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 29, 2021, at his home with family by his side. 

Gary was born October 11, 1942, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of Lee Nelson and Gladys (Lambeth) Nelson. He was a 1960 graduate of Carthage High School. 

Gary married the love of his life, Judy Turpen, on May 21, 1965, in Alba, Missouri. 








He worked as a farmer for most of his life and ran heavy equipment. His most recent job was working as County Roads Superintendent for Jasper County for 18 years. He was a member of the Jasper County Young Farmers, Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, and attended the Purcell Baptist Church. Gary enjoyed pheasant hunting, going to the coffee shop, but most of all, loved his family.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Judy Nelson; two sons, Roger Nelson and wife Lisa, Webb City, Missouri, and Michael Nelson and fiancée Tonya Blankenship, Alba, Missouri; a sister, Patty Law, Carthage, Missouri; and his precious Boxer, Maddie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until service time at the mortuary. Jo Ann Van Note

Jo Ann Van Note, 85, Vail, Arizona, passed away Thursday evening, August 26, 2021, at Brookdale North in Tuscon, Arizona. Jo Ann was born January 17, 1936, in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of Elbert Lorenz Cassell and Geneva Winifred (Lawrence) Cassell. 

JoAnn was a graduate of Eastern High School and was also a long-time member of Beargrass Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she was an Elder. She was a dedicated member of the Friendship Class. 










She was a 17-year-employee of the former Creative Alliance Ad Agency (now Scoppechio) as the agency’s in-house proofreader. JoAnn was a passionate college basketball fan and an avid reader.

She is survived by her brother, James (Judith) Cassell of Berwyn, Pennsylvania; her former husband, Peter Van Note, of Louisville; and four daughters: Patricia Anne (Chris) Rivers and Joan Britt, of Louisville; Kate Thayer (Bill) and Ellen Samuelsen (Rob), of Vail, Arizona; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Louisville, Kentucky at a future date. Burial will be private. She will be laid to rest beside her parents, Elbert and Geneva Cassell in Stone Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri. LaDonna “Sam” Marie Holding, 56, passed away at her home in Nevada, MO on Friday, August 27, 2021. Sam was born on November 18, 1964 in Nevada, to Larry Thomas and Patricia Louise (Smotherman) Holding.

Sam was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada. Her hobbies were cross stitching, genealogy and photography.

Survivors include her mother, Pat; two brothers, Mike Holding and his wife Paula, Nevada, MO, and Shawn Daugherty, Joplin, MO; an uncle, Jack Smotherman, Nevada; and, a niece, Jordan Holding, Mississippi. 








She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Frances Smotherman and a cousin, Jackie Smotherman.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada with Father Peter Savidge officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Nevada. Rosary will be at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, followed by a visitation until 7:00 p.m..

Kim Renee James of Miami, OK passed from this life Friday, August 27. 2021 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was 61.

Kim was born June 3, 1960 in Miami, OK to Jimmy Lee and Billie Jean (Pattison) Robinson. She had lived in the Miami and Quapaw area all her life. Kim was co-owner of East Central Pawn in Miami, OK and a member of Southeast Baptist Church in Commerce, OK.

Kim was preceded in death by 1 grandson Jarren Myers and her father Jimmy Lee Robinson.

Helen Willis

Helen D. Willis, age 90, of Webb City, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Ms. Willis, daughter of the late Walter and Viola (Christman) Jordan, was born on February 26, 1931 in Racine, MO. She was a lifelong area resident having attended school and working in the area most of her life in hotel hospitality and housekeeping. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Destiny Church when her health allowed her. 










She was a collector of angels and later enjoyed red cardinal bird watching and collecting. She was known to enjoy country music and driving in her red 66 Mustang convertible. But most importantly, Helen cherished the time spent and memories created with her family.

Survivors include the father of her four children, Theodore Jeffers, of Joplin; one son, David Jeffers, and his wife, Ruth, of Joplin; three daughters, Darlene Rodriques, of Joplin, Barbara York, of Webb City, and Norma Hampton, and her husband, Rick, of Overland Park, KS; two brothers, Robert Jordan, of Carthage, and Leroy Jordan, of Oronogo; one sister, Hazel Banks, of Carl Junction; grandchildren, Debbie Badgwell, Shona Watkins, Christy Montgomery, Julie Dittmer, Stacey Hampton, Brian Hampton, and David B. Jeffers; 15 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Reynolds Eugene Jeffers; three brothers, Walt Jordan, Marvin Jordan, and Carl Ray Jordan; and four sisters, Inez Scott, Virginia Prigg, Wanda Williams, and Lois Foster.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City with burial to follow at the Carterville Cemetery in Carterville. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, September 2nd from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

DeGee Brown

DeGee (Mieir) Brown of Joplin, Missouri went to be with Jesus on Friday, August 27, 2021.

She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 26, 1962 and grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Oak Grove, Missouri before becoming a longtime resident of Joplin. She had a great love for children and teaching. 










She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Missouri Southern State University in 1986 and went on to receive her Master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in 2012. She taught for two years at St. Ann’s Catholic School in Carthage, 25 years in Joplin R-8 school district, and three years in Carthage R-9 school district before returning to St. Ann’s for another five years.

DeGee married her best friend and the love of her life, Mark Brown, on July 27, 1985. She is survived by Mark and their children, Aaron, Alyssa, and Lauren; her father Bill Mieir and his wife, Dorothy; her brothers Billy, Mark, and Alex Mieir; and many more friends and family.

She was a strong, and sometimes stubborn, Christian woman as well as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt. She loved her family and friends, her students and co-workers, Christmastime, reading, chocolate, books, and autumn leaves. There is comfort in knowing she is without pain in the arms of Jesus and is celebrating with her family and friends, despite the void left in her absence. She touched many lives, and her memory will continue to do so for years to come.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at College Heights Christian Church with Minister Bill Mieir, officiating. Family will be receiving friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.

Mr. Timothy Francis Zimmerman Sr., 50, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, August 28, 2021, in Joplin, Missouri.

Timothy entered this life Friday, September 25, 1970, in Joplin, Missouri, born to Francis and Loretta Zimmerman.








He was a very proud father and wonderful grandpa, who loved to spend time with his family and friends, always knowing how to have a good time. He loved to laugh, spend time outside working with his hands, and was a “Mr. Fix-it” type. He was an honest man and hardworking man, and many would say he would give you the shirt off his back. His hobbies included building things, grilling, taking trips to the river, riding and tinkering with his motorcycles, and most importantly, spending time with his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Francis Zimmerman and sister Debra Mahurin.

Timothy is survived by his mother, Loretta Zimmerman, and his step mother, Carlette Zimmerman, who was always by his side and treated him like he was her own; his siblings Gloria Jenkins (John), Mike Zimmerman (Donna), Bob Zimmerman (Lorna), Robyn Bowman (Rick), Kelly Zimmerman, Leigh Zimmerman, and Heidi Verono; his three children, Timothy Zimmerman Jr., Kaylin McAlaxander, and Tauney Zimmerman; five grandchildren, as well as a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Betty Moore

Betty June Guinn Moore, age 88 passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 surrounded by her family that loved and cherished her greatly.

Betty was born to Edgar and Viola Moore on June 8, 1933 in Topeka, Kansas. She moved with her family to Arizona, Wichita and settled in Kansas City where she attended school. 

She moved to the Neosho area in the Spring of 1950 at the age of 17 to live with her sister, that is where she would meet Jack Guinn. She married Jack that same year and they celebrated 54 years together before his passing in 2004, to this union six children were born. Donnie, Danny, Brenda, Kathy, Tammy and Craig. Baby Danny was lost shortly after birth. Their children were all raised in the Puckett area in the family home that Jack and Betty shared.








She never worked outside of the home, but was a hard-working mother, wife and was always involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives.

Betty married James Moore on July 7, 2007, and they have shared a wonderful and happy 14 years of marriage.

She loved her babies, her flowers, embroidering, Christmas and her family. She would spend hours rocking a baby, tending to her flowers and all year Christmas shopping for just the perfect gifts. The love for her family was one true quality that could be seen in the way she lived her life. As her grandchildren would say, the BEST Grandma anyone ever had, everyone called her “Granny Guinn”.

Preceding her in death, Donnie their oldest son, sisters Jean, Mildred, Connie and a brother Eddie.

Betty leaves behind her loving husband of 14 years, James. Three daughters, Brenda Gordon and husband Darrell of Anderson, Kathy Underwood and husband Kenny of Pineville, Tammy Clark and husband Roger of Anderson, one son Craig Guinn of Pineville. Thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A brother Jackie Moore and wife Marilyn of Kansas City.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Dennis Bergen officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery near Longview. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Murphy, Michael Murphy, Adam Murphy, Drew Pearcy, Cooper Underwood, Connor Underwood and Seth Guinn. Peggy Nance

Peggy J. Nance was born November 19, 1937 in Ridgley, Missouri, the daughter of Joe and Ruby B. (Hawkins) Stamps. She entered into rest on August 29, 2021 in Neosho at the age of 83. Peggy was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Midway High in Newtonia in 1955. 

She worked as a LPN/office nurse for Dr. Richard Betz at the former Sale Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was an avid bowler for many years, enjoyed working in her garden and flowers and being outside. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her great grandsons, Austin and Aaron. 

Peggy and Jerry Nance were married on Nov. 25, 1955 in Granby and Jerry preceded her in death on July 11, 2014. 








She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Dena Nance of Granby; her grandson-in-law, Kevin Cherry of Granby; two great grandsons, Austin and Aaron Cherry of Granby and three sisters, Rosalea Andrews, Sue Clevenger and Gloria White and husband, Elton, all of Granby. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Krista Cherry. 

Graveside services will be on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 at 10 am at the Newtonia IOOF Cemetery, Martin Crews will officiate. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby on Tuesday from noon until 6:30 pm. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 6:30, the casket will be closed at 5 pm to remain closed prior to the visitation.

Marcus Marsh

Marcus J. Marsh, 93, Grove, OK, passed away August 25, 2021 in Grove after an illness.

Marcus James Marsh was born January 3, 1928, Fresno, CA, the son of Ray and Bertha (Fuller) Marsh. Marcus formerly worked at Bag Craft and Eagle Pitcher in Joplin, MO. He loved to watch birds, cars, enjoy and never missed an episode of Jay Leno’s Car Show on TV. Marcus loved and she him in death in 2005.








Survivors include his children, Michelle Baldwin, Grove, OK, Justin Marsh, Anderson, MO, Lisa Davidson, Wyandotte, OK and Susan Smith, Wyandotte, OK; one sister, June Kellenbarger, St. David, AZ and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Viewing of the body will be from 11am to 5 pm, Monday, August 29, 2021 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.

David Esch

David Lee Esch, 84, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, surrounded by loved ones at The Wildwood Senior Living community in Joplin, Missouri.

David was born July 24, 1937 in Pittsburg, Kansas. He was the son of Peter Antone and Hattie Leota Esch. David attended both St. Mary’s Grade School and St. Mary’s High School in Pittsburg. While attending St. Mary’s High School, David participated in basketball and football, received multiple athletic awards, and was part of the 1955 graduating class. David went on to attend Pittsburg State University.








While studying at Pittsburg State, David met his wife, Masolyne Owens of Nevada, Missouri, at a dance, which Mt. Caramel Nursing students were invited to attend. David and Masolyne were married on February 7, 1959 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada. David and Masolyne had five children.

David served for the Army National Guard for four years. After he and Masolyne married, they moved to Kansas City, where he worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance. When his father became ill, David and Masolyne moved back to Pittsburg, KS to help run the family business - Esch Lumber Company. David then worked in management for Prudential Life Insurance Company for over 25 years.

David was devoted to his wife and children. He enjoyed vacationing with his family, spending time at the lake, fishing, and golfing. He was an avid fan of both the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs. David is remembered for his strong will, big heart, sense of humor, and his love for storytelling. David lived to make others smile and laugh.

David is survived by his wife, Masolyne; sons David L. Esch, Jr. of St Louis, MO, Brian and wife Marla Esch of Bentonville, AR, Mark Esch of Webb City, MO; and daughter Tammie and husband Chris Vlach of Bonner Springs, KS; grandchildren; Anthony Esch, Margaret Esch-Anglin, Spencer Esch, Sydney Esch-Fondren, Clayton Vlach, Sawyer Esch, Elizabeth Esch, Andrew Esch, Jordyn Vlach, Kaitlyn Esch, Colton Vlach, and Quinton Vlach, and five great grandchildren; brother Pete and wife Shirley Esch of Fayetteville, AR.

David was preceded in death by his parents; son ,Steven Alan Esch; brother, Dr. John Gerald Esch; sister, Mary Del Esch Sparks, and granddaughter Melissa Esch.

The family will receive friends following the graveside services at a luncheon at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.

David Kincaid

David Douglas Kincaid, 79, of Lamar, MO went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 25, 2021. David was born on June 9, 1942 to Arthur and Ruth (Basore) Kincaid in Oklahoma City, OK. He grew up in the Milford, MO area and attended Round Prairie Schools. 

David kept in touch with his Round Prairie friends and enjoyed a reunion with them every year during the fair. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1961. 








After graduation, he joined the Navy, where he served from 1961 to 1965 during the Vietnam War. 

On March 4, 1967, David married Linda Swearengin. They lived in the Kansas City area. He worked at Tension Envelope as an electrician and later worked his way up to plant manager. He retired in 2003 after working there for 38 years. 

After retiring, David and Linda moved back to “Horse Creek” (Milford) where he enjoyed farming and being part of the community. David always believed that his family came first. He loved his family and was very involved in the lives of his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending their sporting events and other activities. He was always available to listen, offer advice, and occasionally offer a word of wisdom on the right thing to do. He was very proud of his grandsons. 

David served the Lord in various ways. After giving his life to the Lord and being baptized in 1967, David was very active in his church. He served as a deacon for many years, as well as working with the youth and being on various other committees in the church. He enjoyed being part of the community and helping out his neighbors. He was a member of the VFW in Lamar, MO and in Jasper, MO. He was also a member of the Golden City Lions club. 

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; daughter Tammy (Darren) Morrison of Lamar, MO; and grandsons Brayden David Morrison, Jacob Douglas Morrison, and Elijah Todd Morrison. He is also survived by his 2 siblings Charles (Marilyn) Kincaid of Independence, MO, and Margaret (Jack) Craig of Coleman, FL, and by many other loving nieces and nephews, family members, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Arthur Kincaid, Elizabeth Waters, Robert Kincaid, Jerome Kincaid, Paul Kincaid, Warren Kincaid, and Richard Kincaid. 

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Milford Christian Church. 

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Milford Christian Church.

Phyllis Carder

Phyllis Louise Carder, age 81, of Monett, MO passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, at her home in Monett, MO. She was born in Pioneer, MO on Wednesday, October 18, 1939. She was the daughter of John and Seraphine (Hagedorn) Renkoski. 

Mrs. Carder was a 1957 graduate of Pierce City High School. On February 27, 1960, she married Francis "Hank" Carder, and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2005.






 


Mrs. Carder was a homemaker for many years, worked in home healthcare a few years, and ran a business along with her husband. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, collecting antiques, and watching birds. Mrs. Carder was a wonderful cook, and everyone enjoyed eating at her house. She loved time with her family and very much enjoyed her grandchildren.

Surviving are the following: six children, Greg Carder of Monett, MO, Doug and wife Tonya Carder of Monett, MO, Sheila Carder of Monett, MO, Brian Carder of Monett, MO, Kristy and husband Chad Cole of Monett, MO, and Amber Carder of Springfield, MO; one sister, Janice and husband Harold Fenske of Joplin, MO; three sisters-in-law, Donna Chapman of Carlinville, IL, Maebel Renkoski of Monett MO, and Annibel Morris of Wentworth, MO; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Mrs. Carder was preceded in death by her parents, John and Seraphine; her husband, Francis; and a brother, Phillip Renkoski.

Prayer Services and Rosary will be at Lakin Funeral Home, in Pierce City, MO on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation will follow until 8:00 PM.

Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, beginning at 10:30 AM with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Derek Sinclair

Derek Lloyd Sinclair, age 43, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at his home.

He was born January 2, 1978 in Fort Madison, Iowa the son of Cloyd and Cheryl (Carpenter) Sinclair. 

On April 17, 2021 in Howard County, Missouri he was united in marriage to Hayley Joyce, who survives. 








 Also surviving are his parents, Cloyd and Cheryl Sinclair; three sons, Jacob Sinclair, Caden Kraft of Marshall, Missouri and Crayton Kraft of Marshall, Missouri; two brothers, Howard Sinclair of Joplin, Missouri and Jason Sinclair and his wife Trisha of Everton, Missouri; his best friend, Patrice Graham of Cassville, Missouri; two nephews, Blane and Rowdy; nine nieces, Rebecca, Whitney, Breanna, Malory, Laurynn, Bailey, Winnie, Braelynn and Kennedy and several great nieces and nephews.

Derek graduated from Highland High School in Hardy, Arkansas. For several years he worked in the fiberoptic and cable Industry. Later, he became an over the road truck driver until he became disabled. Some of his favorite pastimes were riding motorcycles, going to rodeos, hunting, fishing, being with friends and driving the big trucks. He was a cowboy, full of life and people were drawn to him. He never knew a stranger.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Bill Henry

Billy Guy Henry, age 69, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away at 11:28 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, following a sudden illness. He was born August 10, 1952, in Joplin, the son of Charles M. and Nina (Stone) Henry. 

On July 2, 1982, he married Jean (Daniels) in Neosho, she survives.










Bill was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Diamond High School, Crowder College, and Missouri Southern State College. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1972- 1976. Billy retired from Hometown Bank, where he worked as an auditor for many years. He loved fishing with his brother Mick and spending time in his yard tending to his flowers.

Additional survivors include one daughter Tammie Hays of Stark City, Missouri; one step-daughter, Traci Wise of Neosho; two grandchildren: Tyler and Sydney Hays; two brothers: Rick Henry of Neosho and Mick Henry of Joplin.

His parents, one son, David Henry, and his brother, Ronald Henry, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho. Ron French and Matt Wallain will officiate. Billy will be laid to rest in the Gibson Cemetery in Neosho with full military honors performed by the Missouri Funeral Honors Program.

The family will receive friends at the Clark Funeral from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. before the services.

Patricia Norvell

Patricia Norvell, age 77 of Webb City, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on Friday August 27, 2021.

She was born February 24, 1944, in Joplin, Missouri to Dueward and Marilyn (Harryman) Wolfe.

Patricia worked in several different fields but was very skilled in the medical field. She was most recently the owner of Happy Candle House.









She is survived by four daughters, Christina Bay, Joplin, Missouri, Cherie Wallace, Joplin, Missouri, Jamie Pendleton, Kansas City, Missouri, Melissa Roughton, Webb City, Missouri, step-son, Chuck Pendleton, Springfield, Missouri, two brothers, Michael Wolfe, Ike Wolfe, six grandchildren, Shaeleigh Snyder, Lesley Wallace, Jenna Cue, Alexander Patterson, William Patterson, Courtney Barnard and four great grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday September 1, 2021, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:00 pm Tuesday at the mortuary.

Archie Dixon

Archie Ray Dixon age 72 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma formerly of Carl Junction, Missouri passed away on August 23, 2021 at his home. He was born on February 9, 1949 in Carl Junction, Missouri to Clyde and Hazel Dixon. 

Archie graduated from Carl Junction High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in business from Missouri Southern University. He started working for Archie Williams Grocery Store in Carl Junction in High School, then went to work for Ken’s & Mazzio's Pizza Corporation for 50 years, in Joplin, St. Louis, and Tulsa until he retired in 2020. 








Archie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carl Junction and also Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was saved at a very young age and loved doing Bible Studies and Prophecy Conferences, and also started prayer and Bible groups. When he was a younger man he loved to sing in the church choir. 

Some of his other hobbies were reading, collecting and sorting ball cards. He loved to take his mother and father to yearly Army reunions for his Dad’s servicemen. Archie also loved extended family gatherings and watching the young one grow. He attended many ballgames with children of friends and was an “Uncle” to many young ones. Archie was a caregiver to his parents until there death, and was a people person and loved to care for others, and loved to the Lord and was a wonderful witness to others. 

 He is survived by his 1st cousins, Phyllis Close and husband Bill, Dave Durham, Thelma Bailey, Oleta Williams, Paul Duncan, Dan Duncan, Jim Duncan, Linda Jones, John Jeffries, Jimmy Dale Hamilton; along with numerous other 2nd and 3rd cousins. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home in Carl Junction at 2:00 PM. The family will be present from 1:00 PM until service time for a memorial visitation. Burial will follow the memorial service in Carl Junction Cemetery.

Tennessee with a BS in Education and in 1971 with a MS in Educational Psychology. He was ordained to the Christian Ministry at the Southside Christian Church in Hammond, Indiana on Aug. 9, 1959. Calvin L. Phillips was Minister.








Gordon served for three years from 1959-1962 as Associate Minister at the First Christian Church of Kingsport, Tennessee with Dr. L. Palmer Young. For seven years he served as the Preaching Minister of the Christian Church of Fountain City in Knoxville, Tennessee (1963-1969). 

For five years he was Chairman of the National Bible Bowl Committee, the largest teen quizzing program in the nation as part of the North American Christian Convention (1965-1969). He also served two terms on the NACC Continuation Committee (1963-1969, 1974-1975). He was National Chairman of “Equipping an Every-Member Ministry” committee, Bicentennial Venture for Evangelism (1975-
1977).

For twenty eight years Gordon was professor and Director of the Christian Education Department at the Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo. (1969-1997). Then he spent six years on staff at Good News Productions International serving as Special Projects Director (1997-2003). 

As part of his work at GNPI he began an Internet based distance learning component for Christian Colleges. He spent the next ten years (2003-2013) as Coordinator for what became the Consortium for Christian Online Education (theccoe.com). 

In those ten years the Consortium enrolled more than 4,000 students from 20 colleges, comprised of 19 college credit courses. He has also written for a variety of Christian publications.

Gordon served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of GNPI for twenty years (1976-1996). For thirty years he served on the Board of Directors of the Joplin Neighborhood Adult Literacy Action (1981-2011). He also served six years on the Board of the Prague Christian Library in the Czech Republic. 

From 2004-2009 he travelled twice a year to Europe for board meetings and to conduct seminars. Since 1970 he has travelled extensively, having been in more than 75 countries and all 50 states. He was a member of the Board of Advisors for Windward Islands School of Evangelism from 1998-2010. He also served as Board Chairman of the Asian Christian Mission in Thailand, the Waray-Waray Project in the Philippines, and the Caribbean Anchor of Hope in Jamaica. His latest project was organizing meetings for 58 retired Christian Ministers.

In 2007 he was given the Seth Wilson Outstanding Alumnus Award by the Ozark Christian
College.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home, one son David Clymer, and wife Kimberly of Joplin, and three grandchildren, Cory Fisk, and Alex and Anna Clymer. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Fisk, and a grandson, Ryan Fisk.

Visitation will be at the Mason Woodard Mortuary on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 29th) from 2 – 3 p.m.
Funerall services will be at the Christian Church of Carl Junction at 10 a. m. on Monday August 30th. with burial to follow in the Carl Junction Cemetery.

Colleen L. Bradford, beloved wife, mother, and friend, gained her angel wings August 21, 2021 at the age of 59 in Joplin, Mo.

Colleen was born in Pennsylvania on August 27, 1961 to Elsa Dinger and husband. After traveling the country with her family, she found herself in Joplin, Mo where she met her husband, Donald M. Bradford at a local eatery. On May 12, 1989 the two confessed their love for each other. Together, they welcomed three beautiful children into the world.








Colleen enjoyed working at a local Joplin nursing home for a few years before her children were born. Since then, most her time was spent with her family. She refused to miss her children’s sporting events, band concerts, and other school events. It was not unusual for her to take in unwanted animals. She was also known for her love for the Lord. She will be greatly missed by friends, family, and all who crossed her path.

Colleen is survived by her husband, Donald M. Bradford; her daughter, Carmen L. Bradford; her son, Isaiah M. Bradford; her daughter, Christa J. Seigrist, her son-in-law Trevor Seigrist, her grandson, Jerry Seigrist; her step-son, Jeremy Bradford, her step daughter-in-law Millisa Bradford, her grandchildren Katelynn Bradford, Alex Bradford, Mackenzie Bradford; her step-daughter, Paige Sullivan, her step son-in-law David Sullivan, and her grandson Christopher Sullivan. She is proceeded in death by her mother, Elsa Beegle.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10:00 AM on August 28, 2021 at The Glorious Church on seventh street. Pastor David Pizinger will officiate. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered at 1721 West Seventh Street Suite B, Joplin, Mo 64801.

Meredith Jones

Anna Meredith Jones, age 97, a resident of Ft. Scott, Kansas, passed away early Friday, August 27, 2021, at the Medicalodge in Ft. Scott. She was born March 10, 1924, in Garland, Kansas, the daughter of Archie White Dickerson and Ora Ethel Edgell Dickerson. 

She married Robert L. Jones on August 3, 1940, in Nevada, Missouri. She and Bob moved to their home in Marmaton in 1960. 

Meredith was a talented seamstress. She used her talents to create many beautiful formal gowns. Meredith, along with her mother, owned and operated the Dickerson Slipcover Shop in Ft. Scott for many years. 








Meredith was a member of the Grace Baptist Tabernacle where she actively served as Sunday School teacher for twenty-six years and also served as church pianist and organist. She loved being outdoors and working with her flowers. Following her husband’s death, she later moved to Cavalry Crossing where she made her home for several years prior to moving to the Medicalodge.

Survivors include three sons, Jimmie Jones (Susan) of Ft. Scott, Gary Jones (Alice) of Joplin, Missouri and Mike Jones of Marshfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and twenty-seven great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Norman Dickerson (Bev) of Orlando, Florida, a sister-in-law, Maxine Dickerson of Bronson, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, on February 1, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Gene Dickerson, a daughter-in-law, Kathie Jones and a sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Norbert Morewald.

Rev. Brian Rhoades will conduct a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 30th at the U. S. National Cemetery. Family and friends may meet at the Cheney Witt Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery at 10:45 A.M. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 P.M. Sunday at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
