Harold Spears

Harold Austin Spears passed away Friday morning, August 27, 2021 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO following a brief illness. 

Harold was born March 5, 1929 to the union of Jarvis Spears and Stella (Boring) Spears. He attended Anderson High School where he graduated in 1947. Harold served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War. He retired from Teledyne in Neosho, MO in 1991.








Harold was united in marriage to the love of his life, Cloetta Cooper, on October 31, 1953. He frequented 76 Café where he enjoyed spending time with his friends. Harold was meticulous about keeping his yard and home looking nice. He was a hard worker and could always be depended on in times of need. He loved his family and got the greatest joy out of playing with his grandkids and great grandkids.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Geneva Jeske, Delpha Crawford, Howard Spears, and Jarvis Spears, Jr.

Harold is survived by his wife, Cloetta, of 67 years and two sons, Harold Dean Spears (Debbie) of Anderson, MO and Doug Spears (Connie) of Galena, KS; brother Charles Clair Spears, sisters Marie Eads and Margaret Tallant; grandchildren Jeremy Jones, Lacey Matney, Lindsay Bilby (Ron), Austin Spears (Amber), and Chloe McMain (Trent); and great grandchildren Ty Jones, Cooper and Tatum Matney, Wyatt and Stella Bilby, and Miles Spears. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation for Harold will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri, followed by graveside services at New Bethel Cemetery.
