Peggy Nance

Peggy J. Nance was born November 19, 1937 in Ridgley, Missouri, the daughter of Joe and Ruby B. (Hawkins) Stamps. She entered into rest on August 29, 2021 in Neosho at the age of 83. Peggy was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Midway High in Newtonia in 1955. 

She worked as a LPN/office nurse for Dr. Richard Betz at the former Sale Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was an avid bowler for many years, enjoyed working in her garden and flowers and being outside. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her great grandsons, Austin and Aaron. 

Peggy and Jerry Nance were married on Nov. 25, 1955 in Granby and Jerry preceded her in death on July 11, 2014. 








She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Dena Nance of Granby; her grandson-in-law, Kevin Cherry of Granby; two great grandsons, Austin and Aaron Cherry of Granby and three sisters, Rosalea Andrews, Sue Clevenger and Gloria White and husband, Elton, all of Granby. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Krista Cherry. 

Graveside services will be on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 at 10 am at the Newtonia IOOF Cemetery, Martin Crews will officiate. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby on Tuesday from noon until 6:30 pm. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 6:30, the casket will be closed at 5 pm to remain closed prior to the visitation.
