Archie Dixon

Archie Ray Dixon age 72 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma formerly of Carl Junction, Missouri passed away on August 23, 2021 at his home. He was born on February 9, 1949 in Carl Junction, Missouri to Clyde and Hazel Dixon. 

Archie graduated from Carl Junction High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in business from Missouri Southern University. He started working for Archie Williams Grocery Store in Carl Junction in High School, then went to work for Ken’s & Mazzio's Pizza Corporation for 50 years, in Joplin, St. Louis, and Tulsa until he retired in 2020. 








Archie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carl Junction and also Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was saved at a very young age and loved doing Bible Studies and Prophecy Conferences, and also started prayer and Bible groups. When he was a younger man he loved to sing in the church choir. 

Some of his other hobbies were reading, collecting and sorting ball cards. He loved to take his mother and father to yearly Army reunions for his Dad’s servicemen. Archie also loved extended family gatherings and watching the young one grow. He attended many ballgames with children of friends and was an “Uncle” to many young ones. Archie was a caregiver to his parents until there death, and was a people person and loved to care for others, and loved to the Lord and was a wonderful witness to others. 

 He is survived by his 1st cousins, Phyllis Close and husband Bill, Dave Durham, Thelma Bailey, Oleta Williams, Paul Duncan, Dan Duncan, Jim Duncan, Linda Jones, John Jeffries, Jimmy Dale Hamilton; along with numerous other 2nd and 3rd cousins. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home in Carl Junction at 2:00 PM. The family will be present from 1:00 PM until service time for a memorial visitation. Burial will follow the memorial service in Carl Junction Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to be given to the First Baptist Church in Carl Junction or the Gideon Bible in his memory. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Carl Junction. Visit www.simpsonfh.com for online condolences.
