(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Julia Ann (Doyle) Rowan, age 61 of Carl Junction, MO, passed away at 12:10 AM on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital following a hard-fought battle with COVID.
Julie was born on September 8, 1959 in Joplin, MO to the union of Robert Doyle and Orissa (Gayler) Doyle. She graduated from Memorial High School with the Class of 1977.
She was united in marriage with Mark Douglas Rowan on April 14, 1978 in Joplin, MO. Together they lived in Joplin and eventually Carl Junction where they raised one son, Kyle, and still resided.
Julie was a loving and joyful soul who loved her family immensely, her wonderful friends, laughing until she cried, animals and especially her pets, and taking care of an array of flowers and plants at her home.
Her husband Mark passed away several weeks prior, on July 16th. Julie described him as her "angel waiting on the other side." She was also preceded in death by her mother, Orissa Doyle.
Survivors include her son, Kyle Rowan and his wife Kate of Kansas City, MO; her father, Bob Doyle of Joplin; and two sisters, Angie Minshall (husband, Steve), and Cindy Lawson (husband, Doug).
A joint memorial visitation for Julie and Mark will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 PM at the family home at 9025 County Road 300, Carl Junction, MO. Upon the conclusion of the visitation, friends will be invited to follow in procession to Carl Junction City Cemetery where there will be a memorial graveside service beginning at 12:00 PM.
