(From Clark Funeral Home)Marcia (Selby) Pruitt was born on December 4, 1942 in Carthage, Missouri, the only child of Willis and Mary (Jenkins) Selby. She entered into rest peacefully at home with her family by her side on August 17, 2021 at the age of 78.
Marcia was a graduate of Carthage High School, Joplin Junior College and attended the University of Arkansas. She was a lifelong area resident. She worked at Financial Federal in Neosho for many years and later worked as a caseworker for Missouri Division of Family Services until her retirement.
Marcia was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, working in her yard, and collecting antiques, but she especially loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed getting together with her 1960 Carthage High School Classmates and helping with Faithful Friends. She was a member of DAR and the St. John's Episcopal Church in Neosho.
Marcia married Rick Pruitt on September 4, 1965 in Carthage and he survives.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, she is survived by her son, Jeff Pruitt of Neosho; her daughter, Kerri (RJ) Williams of Joplin and three grandchildren, Miranda Pruitt, Trevor Pruitt and Cooper Williams.
To honor Marcia's wishes, private family services will be held.
