Fredi Cerezo

Federico Fernandez Cerezo, 42, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Joplin on February 7, 2024. 

Fredi was born on June 21, 1981, in Tecali de Herrera, Puebla, Mexico, to Federico Fernandez Gutierrez and Maria Lucia Cerezo Ponce. 

Fredi has been in the United States for 17 years and one accomplishment he was very proud of was, becoming an American Citizen. 

He was a foreman for R, F and B Construction out of Pittsburg, Kansas, and a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City. He had a great sense of humor and was always very friendly to everyone. Family meant everything to him, and his fiancé Vanessa and his children were the loves of his life.

Fredi leaves behind his fiancé, Vanessa Cruz; four sons, Dominik Jade Fernandez, Dakota Brice Fernandez, Dawson Freddy Fernandez, and Miguel A. Cruz II; two daughters, Melani Fernandez Cruz and Mariana Lucia Fernandez Cruz; three sisters, Maria Fernandez Cerezo, Lisbeth Fernandez, and Neli Neris; four nephews, Jose Monroy Terncindez, Hector Monroy Terncindez, Alan Fernandez, and Brandon Neriz; and three nieces, Itzel Shofler, Nahomi Fernandez, and Yessenia Neriz.

Fredi was preceded in death by his parents Federico and Maria Fernandez.

There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday evening, February 12, 2024, at Sacred Heart Church in Webb City, Missouri. His funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Sacred Heart Church. The burial will be at Park Cemetery in Carthage, immediately following the service.
