(From Brown-Winters Funeral Home)Ella M. McClendon, 82, a resident of the Miami area passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw surrounded by her family and friends.
Ella was born on August 10, 1941, in Douglas, Wyoming to Elbert L. and Lois (Neely) McGehee. She married Garry McClendon they raised their family in Seneca, Missouri, and then she and Garry moved to Miami. She loved to travel to visit with family and friends. She was dedicated to volunteering in her church.
She retired from La-Z-Boy, where she was a Quality Control Inspector. Mrs. McClendon was preceded in passing by her parents Elbert and Lois McGehee, her husband Garry L. McClendon and her sister Elsie McGehee.
Survivors include her daughter Linda June Thurman of Neosho, Missouri, her son Garry Wiley McClendon of Fayetteville, North Carolina, five grandchildren Jonathan Reed, Caroline Grimes, Mikka Thurman, Emily McClendon and Charli Thurman, her great grandchildren Trevor Reed, Laykin Reed, Ryker Kaneer, Haeven Thurman, Hazel Walker, Jay’ Veon Britt, Eliza Grimes, Ethan Grimes, Everly Grimes, Jane Hambrock, Oliver Hambrock and Ryan Hambrock. She is also survived by her brother Elbert McGehee and sisters Lucille Schinzel, Melba Brewer and Ruth Warren.

She is also survived by her brother Elbert McGehee and sisters Lucille Schinzel, Melba Brewer and Ruth Warren.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, July 5, 2024, at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service’s Chapel in Miami with Reverend John McClendon officiating. There will be a private interment at Kenney Memorial Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Society of Indian Missions, PO Box 1348, Mission, SD 57555 Martin Lakota Chapel or Poff Support.
