(From Clark Funeral Home)Helen Joan Porter, age 82, passed away on July 4, 2024, in Neosho, Missouri. She was born on May 11, 1942, in Marked Tree, Arkansas. Helen moved from Marked Tree to Ullin, Illinois at the age of three, where she attended grade school. In 1963, she relocated to Kansas before settling in Missouri in 1967.
Helen married Johnnie Roland Porter on May 30, 1985, in Miami, Oklahoma. She was a dedicated mother, raising two children, Julie and Kevin. Helen had a long and fulfilling career at Missouri Gas Energy, where she worked in customer service for 29 years before retiring in 2007.
Helen is survived by her loving husband, Johnnie Roland Porter; her brother, Gene (Kathy) Webster; her sister, Dottie Hunter; her son, Charles Kevin (Amanda) Wallace; her son-in-law, Kevin (Michelle) Morton; her grandson, Josh Jennings; her granddaughter, Brandy (Ross) Baker; her great-grandson, Brady Baker; and her nephew, Steven Porter. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie, and two grandsons Brady Wallace and Wade Hampel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Missouri. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the same location.
Helen will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her kindness, dedication, and love for her family will always be remembered.
