(From Ozark Funeral Home)Jana Kathryn Lesmann, age 51, of Centerton, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, July 6, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas, after a courageous seventeen-month battle with cancer.
Born on March 5, 1973, in Ogden, Utah, Jana's life journey took her to McDonald County, Missouri, where she was raised and graduated from McDonald County High School in 1991. She went on to further her education at Northwest Arkansas Community College, earning a degree in business management that would serve her well in her entrepreneurial and managerial endeavors.
Jana's professional life was marked by her dedication and hard work. She began her career at Walmart. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to open Jana's In Home Daycare, which she lovingly operated for ten years, providing a nurturing environment for the children under her care. Later, Jana brought her leadership skills to the Kum & Go location in Springdale, Arkansas, where she excelled as a manager, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and customers alike.
Beyond her professional life, Jana was involved in her local community as a member of the Flagstone Church of Christ in Bentonville, Arkansas. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and joys. Jana's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She found joy in scrapbooking, capturing precious family moments that would be cherished for generations. Her love for reading allowed her to explore worlds beyond her own, while her talent for drawing and painting brought beauty into the lives of those around her. Traveling and movies provided her with endless adventures and entertainment, but it was her family that truly captured her heart.
Jana's life was centered around the profound love she had for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, David Lesmann, of the home; her cherished children, Krystine Lesmann of Centerton, Arkansas, Shanna Hull of Norfolk, Virginia, Nathan Lesmann and wife, Nicky, of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas, Mark Hull and wife, Kaelia, of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Desiree Lesmann of Centerton, Arkansas. Her legacy continues through her three adored grandchildren, Lexi Rompel, Miles Lesmann, and Luka Torres, who will carry her spirit forward. Additional survivors include her parents, father, Douglas Thompson and wife, Yolanda, of Albany, Oregon, and mother, Brenda Rooks of Noel, Missouri; three sisters, Dolcie Moran and husband, Rudy, Claudette Hyde and husband, Austin, and Elizabeth Castro and husband, Carlos. Her memory will be cherished by her several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other family members and friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
Jana was preceded in death by her stepson, Christopher Lesmann, and her brother, Robert Sherman.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor JR Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanagan Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are David Lesmann, Mark Hull, Wayne Lesmann, Nathan Lesmann, Mike Lesmann, Justin Torres and Craig Wright. The family will receive friends on Friday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
