Lillian Attwood

Lillian Sharlee Attwood, age 88, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at a local nursing center.

Sharlee was born August 12, 1935 in Carthage, MO daughter of the late Don and Julia (Seela) Shackelford. She graduated from Joplin High School and was a homemaker taking care of her family all her life. She loved to dance with her husband over the years, and was very good at crocheting. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved to read and study her bible which she did daily and with many notes. She will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Sharlee was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Attwood who passed away on June 13, 2001, a son, Charles Attwood, and a granddaughter, Chloe Hollaway.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Weber and husband Loren “Doc” of Joplin, sons, Lawrence “Larry” Attwood and wife Brenda of Springfield, MO, and Steven Moreno; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with her son, Larry Attwood officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
