Kenneth Cook

Kenneth Wayne Cook, age 72, of Stark City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

He was born January 11, 1947 in Newton County, Missouri, the son of Marvin and Lela Mae (Edmonds) Cook. On July 2, 1970 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Brattin, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Lela Mae Cook of Stella, Missouri; three sons, Allan Cook of Stark City, Missouri, Randal Cook and his wife Sheba of Stark City, Missouri and Kevin Cook and his wife Kristy of Purdy, Missouri; one brother, Kervyn Cook and his wife Joyce of Fairview, Missouri; one sister, Glenda Cook Bross and her husband Tom of Monett, Missouri and six grandchildren, Kaylee, Kaden, Bradley, Ashton, Eli and Audie.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Kenneth grew up and received his education in Stella where he graduated from high school. On June 15, 1965 he joined the United States Air Force serving until December 13, 1968. Most of his life was spent in Newton County where he was a cattle farmer. For 38 years he worked at La-Z-Boy in Neosho. He was a member of Union Chapel Church in Stella and served as Superintendent for a few years.








Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Rob Wood will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be at Dice Cemetery in Fairview.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.

Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Kenneth.
